    • You have been tried by twelve good men and true, not of your peers but as high above you as heaven is of hell, and they have said you are guilty.

You and Ruthless never fail to pull through for me. Good one. I would bet he doesn't know who Judge Roy Bean is. The wife and I stopped there one time to see his "courthouse", and I could almost feel him still there. Kind of eerie.

If you have your own authority you are a motor carrier. In my case the guy who had the authority I was using at the time in 2012 signed off for me.

Those are both inspector certifications and have nothing to do with doing actual repairs on the truck. The top form is to be able to fill out your own annual inspection and be in compliance doing so, the second is for brake inspections. If you happen to have brake issues at a scale some scales won’t let you do anything on your own brakes without it. So it’s nice to be able to show them a piece of paper and avoid having to call someone out. Although now with disc brakes on my truck those issues are a thing of the past for the most part.

But back to your post that started this pages ago there is nothing saying if I work on my own truck that it has to be inspected before it goes on the road. Carriers can have their own rules. If my truck fails my carrier’s quarterly inspection and it’s repaired anywhere other than their shop then it does have to be inspected by them before I can go back on the dispatch list.
