i don't understand the question/problem?
This could be iffy----
Here are my thoughts on the issue, if in fact this is the issue.
1) If he doesn't like to write, then he is what, 10? Who cares? i mean the best we can do is to expose him to writing/writing related things. But after that, if he doesn't like to write, then what can you do?
2) Now, when someone wants to be a trucker, this could be bad OR good. Now, in my case (see my other threads concerning my mental health), i think it was good AND BAD.
It was good because i love it and the money is pretty good. RARELY do i ever get bored with this job. And if i do get bored it is only for a few seconds. There were many mondays and sunday nights where i actually looked foward to going to work!
But if you look at the whole picture, i'm thinking i either spent a little too much time with trucking and/or should have entered trucking maybe later, and/or should have done other things while doing trucking part-time. Because i think my social life has suffered at least in part due to trucking. Although i really can't blame trucking, because i worked mostly local.
So, i would say it depends on the person whether they should get into trucking.

have him write a route plan. Pick a couple of cities, have him write the detailed directions down. Not just interstate, but from "A" street out of the industrial complex to the interstate all the way to the destination. Could create his own bills. (shipper info, name, adress, product hes hauling, discription of products, name of destination) Once he arrives at his destnation have him write what he sees.(research attractions, landmarks etc) Chicago for ex, im sure there are pics. somewhere of the Sears Tower, Great Lakes, etc etc.
kickin chicken Thanks this. -
To follow up on the last post, have him design a trucker's visitor guide to some of the cities on his route. You know, things to see, where to eat, special events throughout the year..etc.

You could have him write road reports and weather reports, as if he were on XM radio and were giving truckers advice. That would tie in the science and geography of the states.
