Kind of the opposite route of us.... Because originally this company was a brokerage and the customers basically forced it to become a trucking company.

Just delivered a 374 to New Jersey........... The other day....... Let's not repeat that endeavor. Route survey for PA-NJ turned out to be a Google special. Which I was already suspicious of when they didn't produce any handwritten notes.
Trees everywhere, wire strikes check, turns honestly tighter than even my setup is supposed to make, check. High center going straight down the road with 8inches under. Check. Railroad crossing that's impossible with even a high lift neck, check. Dodge the mailbox dodge the car, check. We had over 50 wire strikes I got tired of staring at tiny little black lines in the sky. Combination skid pole and the old discount PVC bucket truck lol.
I'm glad that's done......
But out of the frying pan get hit with the frying pan....
I picked up at Roanoke. Fortunately when it wasn't very busy. Got there the first day trailer ended up living in the bay while the transformer got filled with oil.
And I pulled it out and assembled it loaded. Lucked out on that front. Cuz it is not easy to get those walking blocks out when loaded but this load was light enough that it wasn't a problem.
Long story short Kentucky for some reason didn't release the permit. So I get to take a weekend off.
I don't mind doing transformers but every bloody time trying to even get any securement on them at all is often a challenge. For this one one side of the tabs was off the trailer one side of the tabs was inside the trailer.
One side of the top eyelets there was absolutely no direction I could pull without damaging the thing. I could have got them on the other side theoretically but at that point I don't want an uneven pull on the top of the thing so oh well. I'll take my chances with the base. I even did a style of securement that I do not like to do on transformers which is go against the tank.... But it was quite literally the only way I could get any conceivable decent pull on the bloody thing.
I probably stared at this thing a good hour before I figured out anything I could do at all. Cuz I really really was trying to avoid going against the tank... Ended up putting a little piece of oak between two pieces of rubber to kind of help not damage the edge. Would have liked more but technically at the moment I am dot legal.

Allegedly they have a second yard somewhere where some of our guys have been getting loaded but I went to the main yard.
I got lucky and only had to back in to the door twice... And the trailer didn't fight me on the pinup.
Had to work around two other trucks pulling it out and putting together.
But yeah it can turn into a cluster real quick depending how busy things get ..... On top of the usual transformer herrang.
I've heard many nightmares. Heck one of my buddies here spent 6days there the week before.Deere hunter, beastr123, nikmirbre and 3 others Thank this. -
