Inward facing camera a deal breaker?

Just say no to driver facing cameras

 

I would love to know which company and what software you think "they have access to". My company has a third-party inward facing dash camera but no one in operations is able to directly link to the camera for a live feed.

 

Deal breaker....No, but it's one of those things I would consider for a job, and if the pay and everything else looks good then I'll accept it. The 3 trucking companies I've worked for had outward facing cameras and only one had the inward facing, and that happened to be mostly local. The next company I'm looking at has them but the pay alone is worth it.

 

That is a hard red line for us, no inward facing cameras. There is no upside for the driver with an inward facing camera as any movement of the hands or eyes could be considered a distraction by a lawyer in court.

I'm currently going through that now with a few companies. The attributes should be in the O/o's favor as well imo. Especially when its their truck and they are living in the truck. One company I'm set on only cares if I use a camera for the road and thats it. They don't plan on spying on me.

 

I work for a small company and twice so far I have gone in when they were watching the driver. Once when he was sitting in a traffic jam, and the other time they showed me a video of him getting into a really tight place. Both videos showed the driver the whole time. Once was live and the other was a video of the driver from several hours before. That’s going a bit far in my opinion. Those are just the times I know about because I was there in person to see it.

 

Most cameras can be accessed by the dispatch team, the cameras that Ruan has is one of them that can.

 

Absolutely a deal breaker.
