Slightly larger than Saturdays load. Long wheel base Tundra behind the cab is as big as its going to get on my rig.
carhaulerjeff, Rugerfan, brian991219 and 2 others Thank this. -
Knowing how much fun that is to get out of back there on a Cottrell, why not stack SUVs and throw it on #4? Stop order?Tall Mike Thanks this.

It is easier to go to Lexus first and I don’t like putting really heavy stuff like the Sequoia on #3 deck due to the aluminum flippers. I didn’t notice it was a long wheel base until I loaded the Sequoia and strapped it or I probably would have switched 1&2, but many of our Tundras have bed covers and they can’t be loaded backwards on top so I generally assume a Tundra will have one on it. The long wheel base Tundra still fits on my rig like a glove you just have to be easy getting out the door. A short wheel base Tundra I can swing the door wide open if I wanted. The porches I have on the back of my tractor are made perfect for the long wheel base.Last edited: Aug 19, 2024

Last summer when I was hauling the really big iron I put some flippers on the back side of the #3 deck which made loading big stuff easier. I took them off when I swore off hauling anything larger than a half ton. I probably don’t haul 6-8 long wheel base trucks a year now. I will remount the flippers before I drop my rig off for the next owner of the headrack and trailer.

Tonneau cover Wednesday. I like driving them on anyway, if for no other reasons than to be different than most and not to have one blow off!

i ve had them blow off when driven on the trailer before it was that cheap soft roll up one with the velcro. the whole thing flew off on 65 in kentucky square frame and all made that four wheeler in the left lane doo doo his pantsTall Mike, Banker, brian991219 and 1 other person Thank this.

I had a plastic bed liner make it from Minneapolis all the way to just north of Memphis, that I'd forgotten to strap. Cruise set at 70, and I heard the whooomp. I'm looking in the mirror trying to figure out what just happened, and see it land way back behind me! I'm not sure how high it went but it was pretty close to an eighth mile back when it landed on the shoulder.
Tall Mike, carhaulerjeff and Banker Thank this. -
I saw someone hauling a used Tacoma backed on the headrack one day with a plastic bed liner smacking the roof over and over and over. I imagine that roof had some sizable damage when he delivered it.Tall Mike, richardson918 and carhaulerjeff Thank this.

A little outside the box. Okay a lot outside the box. Didn't work like I hoped, but ended up same height and weight as if I'd have loaded it my normal way.
Tall Mike, Rugerfan, Banker and 1 other person Thank this.
