And?
Just two things, like the truck but hell if he has been "trucking" for 32 years, I would not want him driving my truck.
No seat belt, no brains.tarmadilo, The_vett, homeskillet and 4 others Thank this. -
sitting on the floor, steering wheel pushed up, can't see over the dash. yup real pro
The_vett, Wargames, homeskillet and 4 others Thank this. -
So to be a “pro” your head has to be bouncing off the ceiling? I’m only 5’10”, I can’t stand to sit up high with my feet hanging straight down onto the pedals. So I sit down with my seat slid back so my legs are stretched out in front of me. I’ve hit exactly zero things sitting like this. Only been trucking since April of 97 that way. Maybe someday I’ll be a pro.
Edit to add: As far as the steering wheel position, that’s it for a 359. Hard to believe anyone survived driving without a tilt wheel back in the olden days.
I agree about the seatbelt, but a 359 would’ve only had a lap belt anyway.Oxbow, Crude Truckin', Deere hunter and 4 others Thank this. -
Geez, I don't know how we survived, no seat belt, no speed rated bias ply tires , no log book, no sleeper and on and on.
Can somebody send a link to seat belt use study on a class 8 vehicle specifically?
I've asked many LEO's that ? and all I ever get is ''The information is out there''.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -

If the guy will spend a few dollars he can have a modern seatbelt installed for the lap and upper body.
That's what I would do.The_vett, Wargames and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -
I wouldn’t hack up a clean 359 interior to install a seat belt when it’s not required. Without the proper bracing in the cab the anchor bolt for the shoulder belt would just be for looks anyway.

put enough air in to keep your butt from bouncing off the floor.
if you look, he can't see his hood from that low, peaking between the steering wheel spokes.The_vett, Long FLD, Wargames and 1 other person Thank this.
