Dads trucks are giving problems. 2014 and 2015 International Prostar. The problem currently with the 2015 is the alternator. Apparently it had a 14V 200 amp alternator on there and now they only sell 12V 160 amp alternators. Question is will the lower voltage alternator work? He’s a one man show, fixing it himself, and working #### near 7 days, so if there is something easier he can do your advice is appreciated.
Thanks

It will work. Been substituting them for years on IHC Prostars at my shop.
Heavyd and TruckThing4Dad Thank this. -

Only thing that would cause an issue is if you are running AGM batteries. They require a higher charge voltage than the standard batteries.
