People don’t want to tarp, do you think they will actually plastic wrap a load of finish trim and have good tarps to go over that? Lol.

I knew a one truck guy from MN that hauled veneer out to OR, got a short load to CA, and then loaded door trim back to MN or WI. He did that for years until he retired. The veneer had to be double tarped and the door trim had to have plastic on it. And both better be in good shape when you get where you’re going.

Even today if someone got set up with Buttice or Fox or any of the other lumber brokers they’d see above load board rates out of the NW if they wanted to. But it’s easier to complain about the rates and avoid an area.

LOL...That's okay, if the ankle biters want to stay out of the area it just makes things better for the people that have roots here. Not that that entitles us to anything special...it sure doesn't...but we tend to be protective of what he have because we know what the alternative is.

Hanging singles is easier than taking a leak. Hanging some triples isn’t much more effort and you’ll get more done with triples on one drive axle than singles on both drive axles.

Singles you’re going to dig until the inside tires hit the snowpack, triples you’re going to dig until you hit pavement. Lol

    Exactly.

About 10 years ago or so, I rounded a corner here on the gravel in ND. Snow and ice on top. Saw a Hamm and Phillips water truck with smoke pouring off the tires. Foreign driver. Had iron on the front right drive, and rear left drive. Power divider locked and just rolling steam and smoke off the non chained tires. I stopped and told him to just chain one axle, not one position on each axle, and he could get going. He said this is how he was trained to chain up and I didn’t know what I was talking about. I asked if he had lockers and said he has it locked. I gave up and drove away.

That's the whole problem - idiots training people. Trainer probably fed him a whole line of bull#### about how the diffs and lockers work too.
