If you have an llc or corp, you have two options: 1. Keep the corp intact and register in the new state as a foreign entity. 2. Form a new business and dissolve the previous corp.
You will need to file a new mcs-150 for the address change (and/or name change). Doable on the fmcsa website.
File a new BOC-3
Open a new irp/ifta account in the new state.
File a change to the irs if you have an ein.
Purchase any local business licenses.
If you have a hazmat endorsement, have the prior state forward your tsa background check to the new state, then retake the hazmat test and get a new license.
Update your insurance policies with the new info.
Update broker contracts where applicable.Vitkouski, 77fib77, Keepforgettingmypassword and 2 others Thank this. -

Thanks!
On what stage do you have to change trucks registration form old state to a new one? Or it's not necessary? -
call Georgia Secretary of State they can tell you how to move company over. That’s your best bet. Most likely You don’t have to dissolve or close anything.Vitkouski Thanks this.

You will keep the same USDOT and MC number. The only way this will change is if you apply for a new USDOT Number and MC number.SAL2020 Thanks this.
