Yes, anyone other than a recent experienced driver will have to train 6 weeks with a Swift mentor.

Was going to say I personally don't drive for swift however got a friend that pulls flatbed for them. He got his from a college and when he went to swift he went with a trainer didn't have to go through their school really no reason to .
cowwboy Thanks this. -
If you have recent school experience that is different. With Swift, if you have been through school, you have to go through orientation (which i believe each co requires), then you go out with a mentor unless you have previous experience

Thank you much. Yes I intend to go through my local collage then get on with a company as soon as possible. One more question. Can anyone tell me was is the average pay for student with a swift mentor for 6 weeks thanks

I'm 99% sure this is current! -
This is the pay info my recruiter gave me in Jan., except that flatbed gets a penny more per mile.

During the 6 weeks with your mentor, you will earn 450/week for the first 4 weeks. The last 2 weeks you will get 500/week. After your 6 weeks of training you will start at .25/mile.
