Gas Station Explosion In Cardiff,ID

My guess, a bad ground.

 

Probably hitting a vape would be my guess.

 

Between fools smoking while fueling, leaving their vehicles running, and leaving the pump unattended while actively pumping ( sitting in the car on social media) it’sa wonder there’s not an incident like this daily.

 

Hopefully the driver wasn’t delivering without a vapor hose hooked up. Lots of guys seem to just pop a vapor fitting into the hookup and let it vent into the atmosphere

 

Driver with another co here got busted by EPA dropping with vapor vented but not connected on two occasions was reportedly fined 10k personally, and his company was fined 50k. Apparently he didn’t learn his lesson the first time.
Given the risks involved, and the incredible level of stupid we all see out there from the general public, i certainly hope we’re taking every precaution possible to prevent such things.
I get that there’s older stores that have no vapor, and we brain faht on occasion, but above all, stay safe out there.
Don’t let Darwin sneak up on you.

 

I know of a few fires at fuel stations because of this practice. Not good.

 

Really frigging sad . What ever caused it ( vape , someone smoking , whatever - just screwed up . It's amazing how little things end up killing and injuring people .

 

Years ago, when I was doing fuel deliveries, I had some idiot that was throwing fireworks over his shoulder towards the back of my trailer, and I had to yell to him to knock the hell off or he would blow up the whole freaking neighborhood…it doesn’t take much to ignite the vapors
