If it’s a long term situation then swift will say they aren’t responsible unless you officially tell them. I’d at least put the liability on them in case you can’t ever get back to 100%

 

Enlighten me on how Swift is responsible.

 

It happened at work didn’t it? If it’s a workplace injury then they would be responsible for your medical bills and disability being paid out if you require surgery or a lengthy time off. But if you don’t report it then it’s all on you.

 

I called and reported it just after it happened.

 

Then call them back and ask them how you should proceed. They're not going to be happy, but you have to look out for you. This could be far worse than you think and you really need to protect yourself and get medical attention.

 

It has been 5 days now. There is no one that can decide things over the weekend, and I'll be speaking to my DM tomorrow.
I am not yet able to do my job. I can drive because there is no clutch to press, but I can't do most other things. I can't climb in the trailer or even get up the catwalk steps to get the broom. Other things as well.

I'll be suggesting that I bobtail home at this point.

They have one and so should you, protect yourself, SWIFT isn't going to. There going to protect SWIFT.

But my sister is currently in her own workman's comp battle with IKEA. Her attorney should do nicely if I need one.

 

IDK, I'd give Swift the opportunity to do the right thing before I got an attorney involved.
They have insurance for this sort of thing and this ain't their first rodeo.
When I went out with Schneider, it was fairly seamless. As a matter of fact, they were hardly involved at all. They passed it off to a 3rd party and they took care of the Dr"s appointments and whatnot as well as pay...$750 a week until I was better.
So, I would advise that you let Swift get the ball rolling, and proceed from there. It's more than likely that there will be no problem. Like I said, you ain't the first and you won't be the last. Let the process play out.

That is exactly what I have always intended.
I am not one to be quick about seeking legal help. Only if I have to, and I have never had to.

Swift has always been good to me. 13 years with them, remember?
I have 170 sick hours available to me, so I will start there to keep some money coming in.

My condition is slowly improving, but it still may take a couple more weeks - and perhaps (as many are advising me to do) some advice from a doctor.
But I would rather go to my home town clinic to see the doctor. Using emergency services is way too expensive without an actual emergency, for all involved.

Hopefully I won't lose my nice truck in the process. But they did fix it for me, and let it sit for a couple months at Phoenix until I could get to it.
