Nobody is saying to break the law or that you can’t use them

    do whatever you want,
if you need lights to feel safe at 9 ft you should probably consider doing something else…
Lights aren’t going to protect you at any dimension. The public ignores them, that was the whole point of the comment

The public will ignore them regardless. Just like they ignore pilot cars or the fact that it’s hanging 3 feet off each side. People are oblivious. I don’t think a guy running them for a 9 wide hurts or helps

Nevada might be a good one to watch for as you need a permit to have them mounted but not turned on. But my permits have never mentioned running with them on or off.

I believe that in montana it’s ticket-able to have signs and beacons on under 10’, or it will at least get you a talking to. On the other side of that I think there’s a state or two that you need them if you’re over 8’6”.

Need an amber light permit for GA too. Wyoming will get you for a banner on an empty truck. I think GA can but don’t really enforce it

cke and Deere hunter Thank this.

I thought Nevada was for Pilot cars not Trucks.
But I do not know that for sure, can't find any law on that-)

GA got rid of the stickers as of July 1 this year.
    Amber Light Permit

Nevada needs the permit for trucks too. It's only a few bucks and fast to get online.

cke, beastr123, Deere hunter and 2 others Thank this.
