Keep in mind also, a lot of college players who enter the transfer portal don't actually get picked up by another team. In fact that's what happens to the vast majority of them. They lose their free ride scholarship. That's the risk they take

Fellas I've been missing in action since the weekend. I had a load going to Hattiesburg, MS for this past Monday, so I stopped by the house. My wife got way too drunk on Saturday, and threw up on my phone lmao!!!!! Gave it water damage, or should I say, puke damage. I had my tablet so all wasn't lost. The company had to call the broker for me once I got to New Orleans Monday, so they could take the trailer and load it. Got up to Mount Vernon, and my phone started back working, but only for calls. Touchscreen was a mess. Took several screen shots by itself lol. I finally just broke down and replaced it. Luckily Verizon was up the street from Jung Warehouse. I'm headed to McLane down in Fort Worth, with lots of til delivery, but that's due to how my hours are set up right now. On occasion recaps can bite ya in the arse. How are ya doing?

Saban is also in his 70s so I'd be naive to think that the portal was the sole reason he retired. He still had top 5 teams year after year. If he had came back, they'd still be a contender. I got to thinking about this, and college football on the Power 5 level really has always been this way. Students got paid, but now they can do it without consequence. Now they don't have to sit out a year when they transfer. College football has been a big time money maker for years. If the NCAA had just created a payroll, or revenue sharing years ago, all the conference realignment and the transfer portal would have never came into existence. So in my mind, the NCAA dropped the ball there. I'd say they're pretty much useless on the Power 5 level. When it comes to the Group of 5 and lower, with few exceptions, the NCAA still can govern them.

I've never watched it but Colin Cowherd says it was quite good. To be honest, I didn't really see the big deal about Stallions stealing signs...I mean doesn't every team do it? Lol. For all that sign stealing the did, it only got them 1 Natty. Plus, one can cheat, but the players still gotta execute. Michigan was putting out some good players during Harbaugh's tenure, so was it really that big of a deal? I saw where the NCAA was trying to suspend their current coach Sherrone Moore. They really should let it ride at this point.

Pretty much along the same lines as Barry Bonds IMO. A slight advantage to incredible talent doesn't negate the incredible talent.

It's 2024 and Michigan is a top tier program. There's ridiculous amounts of analytics and knowledge in that staff. Sign stealing adding a very small percentage, like you said. It's not 1996 watching VHS film anymore

Apples and oranges. Performance enhancing drugs aren't a slight advantage, as proven by Bonds, and likely Sosa.

This was exactly my thought. And hell the first thing they talk about in the show is how every team does it. They study tape, watch the sidelines and then watch the play on field and try to establish a connection between the hand signals and the play ran. They even talk about how teams will have decoy signers to throw off the other team on who to watch, so they don’t know which one is actually calling the upcoming play. So yea I don’t get it either what they did that was so different, but maybe I missed something.

It's one thing to try and steal signs during a game. It's a whole nother level what that douche was doing going to opponents games like he did that'sway out of bounds.
