Why would you need one? You have more than 40 trucks?
-
So, are you looking to hire a safety mgr?
And you're looking for recommendations on searching for one? .... OR what to look for in a safety mgr?
Where are you located? -
-
No, I don’t.
But I need help with hiring someone, onboarding, compliance. -
I wouldn’t recommend hiring an outside company, just my opinion. The way we did it is hire another person for the office, start out by sending her to the drug and alcohol training and going from there. We trained her for all the compliance requirements and record keeping needed.
Kairen0001 Thanks this. -
Thanks a lot!
Could you please tell more about those trainings? Where are they and how much is it? -
I’m in Pennsylvania so your situation may be a little different. But that was just my starting point. If you go to FMCSAs website, search for supervisor reasonable suspicion training. Everyone who manages drivers is required to have the certificate of completion from a course. Here in PA, several hospital chains host those training programs throughout the year. Check their website or ask the staff at the clinic you have your DOT physicals performed. They should have some information.
With that under your belt, you can begin training your employee on the record keeping requirements and things to monitor like the clearinghouse.Kairen0001 Thanks this. -
Cost will vary, I think ours is either free or something like $75

Thank you! will try and check it out
