When I drove a Freightliner almost every customer or the few regular customers were slightly uphill backs. It was tanker.

I don't have a setting to turn off eCoast, but I do have a workaround.
Pressing the M/A switch on the right stalk to turn it to Perform mode. It cycles between Auto, Perform and Manual. I think a slightly longer press to get to Manual mode, because a quick press will cycle between Auto and Perform. In Perform mode it turns off the eCoast.
In Perform mode it also uses the gears better when accelerating or going up a hill.
I found that in the loaner I had, and my own truck has it as well.

But it does switch itself back to Auto under certain circumstances, so I have to watch it.

hope not dumb twucker Thanks this.

Thanks, I'll try that. Mine likes to jerk at times.

My current truck is a '23, the loaner was a '21.

As with many things, it is probably a setting that can be accessed/changed via the computer connection. If you have a mechanic friend, he might be able to turn it on for you.

I remember creep mode being a blue button on the stalk or a switch on the dash….

Sorry, but I have to chuckle about this. I was having the same problem with the Freightliner I use. It was like the thing was having an epileptic episode every time I needed to back into a trailer to couple with it. The only thing I found that works is to really feather the throttle gently.

    Moosetek13 and Thrasher28 Thank this.
