Hello, i had Michelin right now but budget is killing me. Thinking of going with hankook on drives its the flex d12 11r22.5. I drive about 250km a day or city. In Toronto area so snow is sometimes heavy here but recently it’s been good, lucky i guess. What is the best you suggest?

I never liked Michelin on anything, and never thought worth the extra price. I had great luck with Bridgestone, Hankook is okay too, but be careful there, as some Asian tires are junk. Goodyear was okay too for drives, but always steers seemed to cup more than others. Cooper was okay too, but pricey. .

The Hankook DL12 is fine. I’ve ran two sets of them over the years. Very similar to the Michelin XDN2’s. The Toyo M920 might be a decent option for you too.
Deere hunter Thanks this. -
I’ve really like the Toyos on my truck

I have had good service out of Firestone and Yokohama.

Like those toyos, but i run the m647s, bit more aggressive tread, m920s are road queen tires.
Tire techs have liked the toyos too, not stupidly stiff like a lot of the newer stuff -
Hancooks are alright. Ive used them on my trailer before. They are pretty squishy though and gravel destroys them in short order so my experince was eh overall. That said my advice is as a rock truck so i look for diffrent stuff from tires.
yokos and bridgestones are pretty good and i usually get around 80k out of a set of drives for both. Decent in snow but nothing to write home about.
Firestones are garbage. If i can get 10k out of one its a shock. Gravel just eats them.
ive also had good luck with ironmans in the past but they rarely last much past 50k. They are really really hard which is great in gravel as they dont tear or squish easily but asphalt does eat em up pretty fast and they are LOUD. They also are at best below average in snow.
Goodyears are a good mix and i get about 75k from them and are better then average in snow but the steers arent as grippy.
Honestly michlin XDN2s and such are the gold standard for a reason. Rare i get less then 120k out of a set and i have one pair on atm thats at almost 200k and only just starting to break down on me. Going to run em out till first snow then kick em into the spare tire shack.
Ive found dollar for dollar i get 2 to 3 times the miles out of the rubber on michlins. They do feel like a punch in the dick to replace though. Ill post pictures of that 200k set later when im done shutting down.

Vitkouski, Crude Truckin', 86scotty and 3 others Thank this. -
They’re not exactly a closed shoulder straight tread

Opendeckin Thanks this. -
I approve of this message.
No matter what you do don't put Firestone steers on a heavy tractor. Michelin steers for me only on my fat Volvo pig.
I sold off a few children for a full set of XDN2's for my drives a few months ago. Looking to get a few years out of them. Maybe more than I got out of the children.Crude Truckin' Thanks this. -
M647s with something like 200k on em

Maybe its just me, but the tread being far closer together on tires like the m920s doesnt feel like it does as well on rougher ground compared to the more spaced out tread on my m647sAttached Files:
