Most companies verify once you are there. If you worked for a large chain it shouldn't be a problem. If they can't verify they will probably have you sign something saying you were unemployed. They just need something on file due to the regs.

They will start on some of it before you go at most company's.
But the majority of checks are done when you are at orientation. I have seen it several times. People will come and be there for the first day or so, then are sent packing.
This is why many company's do 3 day orientation. They need time to get the checks back.JustSonny Thanks this. -
Did your school do any kind of checks? That's probably a dumb question but I had to ask. You must have some idea what your employment, driving, and other background looks like. If you have concerns in any area, I would advise going to the source, i.e., the past employers, DMV, etc., on your own. It can be done, just takes time!

Heya, yeah I have an idea.. They got all my DMV, and employment stuff. I just dont want to be sent home because one stupid verified thing.. I'm pretty sure I listed all my employers in the last 5 years.. I just may have missed 1-2 that they may see, but I believe they are over 5 years.. My main concern I guess is that say I listed my employers, and then they see 1-2 more that I thought were over 5 years, but actually weren't.. I just wonder if they will just ask me if I've had any other employers at all, and I can just tell them then that I thought they were over 5 years ago.

I'm not sure.. I can ask that I suppose, do they do that?
Could I just fill out another application to be sure?JustSonny Thanks this. -
If you did the original app on-line maybe you could retrieve it. I don't know how to do this or even if it can be done. It's not like retrieve old email, I don't think. Maybe some of the technowhizzes here can tell you. -
when you get your call for an orientation date...just have yourself a "complete list" with you...you have time right now to use your computer and do a "report" or "resume" type thing and take the time to make yourself a complete list of your employment for the past 5-7 years...have it with your (print it out) and if any questions arise, you have the information right in your hand, so to speak.
With Swift, the verification is done at/during orientation, so just be prepared. The Columbus Terminal was always a good terminal to me, good people there, seemed to actually care about their drivers. And having two jobs at the same time is no problem to Swift...also any gaps in employment, they just will need the explanation...don't worry about the little things...just get it started, and enjoy the experience.
