That’s exactly what i thought when I read the story on trucks news .Humber can’t compete with the low cost Brampton schools . cbc news just did a story on how unqualified truckers are getting on the roads . it was shocking the driving schools from Brampton know what each town will test you on and go to towns where it’s easy to pass . When cbc sent emails off to the transportation minister who is also a new Canadian they never got a response. These trucking schools will even negotiate on price instead of 5k will do it for like $2500

I hear it’s over 10k now at humber , i went to FGM truck lines in Bolton was $2500-2800 back in 2007/08 . I wonder what all the Mega’s will do now since some would only hire from humber

Man, I live in etobicoke nearby where they do their training. You see them at all hours of the day and night. It's the only school I've ever had respect for. Sad to see them go. They train in rain and snow.

I got my license in 2017 for $1000. 12 of us crammed in a truck. Learned absolutely nothing.

Interesting. I didn't go there, but at least the school I went to offered 1-on-1 training for everything except pre-trip inspections. For that it was 4 students to 1 instructor.
It was funny, because right next door to the school's yard was another truck driving school that was horrible. They would pack 2 or 3 students into the cab to do the actual driving portion of the training and I never saw anyone there being taught how to back or do coupling/uncoupling. What the hell are you going to learn by sitting between the instructor and the driver? You might as well watch videos.

Geez in ‘91 there was a guy fresh off the boat selling AZ’s for $800 at the Shell at Dixie and Brittania He seemed to be there frequently, or the once a week that i fuelled there.
