New AZ driver in ontario cant seem to get anything going on

Honestly, who wants to work for Indians? In my experience, they're notoriously cheap and aren't too big on safety.

 

Seems like a lot of it is who you know these days too.

 

Problem with Canada is the Trucking Industry is smaller than most think here. A lot of companies try to ripoff driver and O/o's and hold a straight face when doing so. Plenty of New Canadians literally get off the plane and in a month have their Canadian & U.s. Authroity with a reasonable insurance rate but Canadians born in Canada have to jump though hoops like a circus perfomer to catch a break. What was once fair went out the window in 2016 around the time the current Government took over.
As a new Az driver you have to get creative and fabricate sometimes on your resume in order of makimg it look more interest as a driver.

 

That’s living in Canada in general ones who were born here are getting screwed on other things like housing where young people can’t buy sh$t but immigrants fresh off the plane are buying million dollar homes

 

And driving flashy cars.
I honestly find that so many of these people are lazy and/or stupid. I've done pre-trip inspections on trailers they've dropped and caught so many glaring major defects, it's unreal.

 

This industry is gone. Just like everything else in this country, it's never getting better.

 

Doesn't matter who's at the helm, this ship is sinking.

 

Freight is slow past 6 months,,I let dispatch know park me as much as possible so the new hires can work so i generally only run 2 or 3 nights a week. It’s sweet,,work 2 days and still maintain senior line haul position,full time status benefits, paid stats and 8% vacation pay…

 

There are tons of ads on Indeed mined you for O/o's too which is what I've been looking at over the last couple months. I've spoken to a couple Managers and owners and find that the majority are schemish. Very unfortunate.

As mentioned before Kijiji has a few Independent O/o's looking for AZ drivers. Its good for a driver to post their ads on there because companies do read them.

 

Look for a landscape, utility, tree company needing a az or dz driver to get a.bit of experience. Farms etc
