I have room for a produce o/o. I’d rather hire a guy with a glider over an older emissions truck. A maintained glider is priceless. But often you find guys with equipment that is subpar. Few realize how much it costs to run a truck that has age. Some buy a truck for 50k and a month later there is a hole in the block. Then what. Now you got 110k in an older emissions truck. Two months later they need their filters cleaned and their scr box is worn out. Now they are in the cost close to a 2025 truck. You don’t make money on the downtime but still have costs. Hard to get loan to fix old equipment on good terms. Same story, every day… post after post

First issue - The instrument cluster would go out and then after 30 minutes, it would come back on and show improper information.
The second issue was the lights would just go out and stay out, no matter what was done.
The first issue is fixed, and the second is causing the dealer to take the truck back.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
You can replace just about everything on a cabover for about $25,000-including an engine. I bought this truck (delivered for $6,500 and put about $7,400 into it. Ran it for a year OTR ans old it to a Russian who had to have it. I would never buy a new truck as they are built so cheap and nothing but electronic headaches.

I lucked out with my older truck. Engine was rebuilt, new wheel bearings, seals replaced, hoses replaced, belts replaced, brand new rubber all around, new drums, brakes, new cans, new steering box, new air bags.
I did do a couple of odds and ends, put in king pins plus an alignment, cut down the stacks to a lower height, replaced my dash vents with new chrome plastic ones, put in a new cd/bluetooth radio, redid the roof markers with brand new one’s.
Other than that, she runs down the road like a dream. Sure am blessed to have it.Rideandrepair and Opendeckin Thank this. -
and when that unknown used engine blows on the first load after install you are back to nothingW923 and Rideandrepair Thank this.
