Dogs can sense the presence of AI images. And Terminators.

Preaching to the choir. My kids are into a lot of this stuff, wife too. They’ve apple watches, Alexa’s, all that crap and I always ask them “have you people seen Terminator or I Robot?” I don’t want thinking machines. I remember one time I needed to replace an entrance door lock set. The lowes kid kept trying to direct me to one that could communicate with my phone. I tried to politely push him away saying I just wanted a basic deadbolt combo. He was insistent and I finally snapped and said loudly “have you seen 2001 a space odyssey?” He replied he hadn’t . I said well you go watch it and leave me alone but you may understand why the last thing I want is the computer in my phone or anywhere else talking to the lock that lets me in my house once you watch it. Not sure if he got the reference but it made me feel better

I know how you feel. This new ai crap is worthless. I'm a young guy, and an old school trucker. Never owned an electronic diesel of any kind. My "phone"? hate it. Often gets thrown on the truck floor when it won't work right. Still plays Johnny Cash at the end of the day don't know how though. I'm currently getting my house built. What did I pick for a gen set? A Detroit two stroke of course! One thing that gets me about this new electronic **** is the fact that if we ever have nuclear fallout, that will totally wipe out any type electronic device in it's path. The only thing that will go down the road is the mechanical diesel. Not even gas engines will work. They require an electronic spark to the plug, and in fallout, electrons can't move.

You've got a few things mixed up.
It's not the fallout, it's the electromagnetic pulse generated by the nuclear explosion. That generates voltages in electronics as it passes by, voltages high enough to fry most circuits.

Gas engines will run just fine after a nuke, provided they're old enough to have points and coil ignition systems.

As far as electrons go, they'll move just fine. It's actually their movement as the EMP field passes that causes all the problems.

You're right. I'm not great at electronics, but after some research I thought that anything electronic would just not work. At least that's what I was told...
But yes, if you own an ev oh well...

I’d guess he was trying to go around traffic on the Beltway. Northern Pkwy would eventually take you to I-83.

I forget I'm an old guy nowadays. Coils and points are electrical but aren't electronics, but they were mostly gone in the late '70's. Even small gas motors have been electronic ignition for decades. So anything with a carb and old school ignition would run, but there's not a lot of that around.

And there's not really been any EMP testing, as the nuclear test ban was in effect before electronics were a widespread thing, so much of the thought on EMP damage is theoretical. Could be worse, might be less.

If it’s AI does it exist in the real world?

    asking for the CAT engineers.

I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. But at the same time, if you can’t use a height pole/don’t own one, flatbed companies are hiring for stick and brick. Save yourself the headache.

Thank you, the second angle sheds light on what I thought I was seeing but wasn’t.
    Still a lot of carnage.
