For years we've been bumping our 70 so management, in their infinite wisdom put on like 10 guys in the last 20 months and then the work dries up so all us senior drivers are working 50+ per week while they put 60+ on the newer hires hoping they won't see the greenery on the other side.
I'm actually OK with it as I'm on the backside of my career but am in line to make what I did 10 yrs ago.

I work for a hauler. I would say yes the dispatchers could be better as well. What money is realistic going into my second year? Thanks for your reply.

Assume about the same all things equal.

Maybe ask about a increase after the elections are over.
If you could find work for a private fleet that would increase your wage substantially.

Seems our terminal won't work you over 55 hours no matter what.

I think I'll make around 110K this year but it could be much better.

Only place I ever worked at that won't let drivers work as much as they want to.

For us the work isn't there..
    Economy has contracted a bit.
Typical in an election year but seems more pronounced.
Here they've been making up silly layovers to keep guys busy for 2 days with just a bit over a days actual driving/work.

We're slowing down big time. The only reason we had a full day today was the absolute SNAFU we had a PITA customer that we normally don't go to. I am convinced that people who decide where to put Bollards in a work place must have had their spouses stolen by a truck driver.

Question: with cryo work slowing down -- how do the 3rd-party carriers (KAG, LGT, Genox, etc) manage to stay busy on any worthwhile level?

    :dontknow:

I would assume KAG would just have their drivers haul other things if there was no cryo work. They have their hands in just about everything these days from food grade, to fuel and whatnot

AP has 2 or 3 lgt trucks working sready out of our plant due to the inability to hire a couple replacement drivers.
Most producers will throw a few trips a week to outside carriers, most likely for loyalty and to keep em close by.
Really isn't a whole lot of work to share here.
I'm planned on a 3 trip, 20 mile 9 hour day this morning.
