Curious what tires you've found most effective in snow and ice?
I understand, braking performance may not be up to par when you don't have a choice what trailer you're pulling, but for the tractor, if you run a lot up north, what tires do you find get you further before chaining etc.?
What's your favorite snow tire? Steer and driver.

Where do I look for these? I can't seem to find them when searching BYD tires. I'm not concerned about quick wear if they perform well in those blasted rollers where you hit 2 miles of crap, they 5 miles of dry, then another mile of..........

Go, go, go, go Goodyear. I hear in mud or snow, they pay the tow,,,or did in 1963 anyway,,

My favorite snow tires are the ones I’ll never need.

Ran west montana to east Washington for 3 years. Never used anything outside of regular closed shoulder Bridgestone fleetspecs.. don't overthink it.. if you aren't getting off the pavement it don't matter in my opinion..(and I still was getting off the pavement everyday) a good set of chains is what's important during the winter
bryan21384 and Deezl Smoke Thank this. -
I agree fully. It's that place right before chains, but after dry and clear that make me want a tire that works.D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

I see what you mean now. I put a set of open shoulder Firestones on my rig but never got to test it much in the bad conditions.. anything with an open shoulder will have more traction then closed shoulder fuel mileage fleet spec tires..Deezl Smoke Thanks this.
