OK for non-California-legal trucks(over 65 feet) to cross Oroville Dam on Hwy 162?

The Caltrans truck route map shows 65' long trucks only. It's straight road all the way from 70 to 99 so I don't know why. CA-70 is closed to trucks through Marysville right now. Wondering if anyone cuts across on 162 on a regular basis without CHP saying anything.

There is some construction going on around Marysville, but don’t know about being closed to trucks. Was just there Thursday. Went right through with a number of other trucks.

Going northbound there was an electronic sign telling trucks to use 99. There was a fire at a historic hotel in downtown Marysville a few months back and there is still a possibility of it collapsing into the northbound side of the street. The detour through town for northbound vehicles isn't a truck route. I read that the southbound side of the street is open but not sure about trucks. Anyways, I went through Chico to I-5 instead.

There are lots of ways to work that area. Never had any problems out that way.

162 from Oroville over to 99 south is not going to be a problem. I'm through there fairly regularly. You are correct about the situation in downtown Marysville. I was through there a couple of weeks ago and southbound 70 was open, but it was pretty backed up. I got myself in a serious cluster and was late for my unload trying to get from eastbound 20 onto 70 south. My GPS blew it and the Caltrans signs got me even more confused.
Generally speaking I prefer coming through there on 99 anyway.
