Walmart DEF in blue jugs are best price around. Order online with curbside pickup in lots of 2.

I think it’s totally worth it. It can potentially save you from having to call a mobile mechanic that charges $500 to do a forced regen. Fixing With Ryan on YouTube said the active and passive regens never fully clean the DPF and he does a forced regen once a week on his truck even if the truck doesn’t need one. I think doing this will eliminate me from ever having to clean or replace my DPF.Deezl Smoke and Iceman1643 Thank this.

You've been given some very wrong information.
The DPF will absolutely, 100% require removal and a cleaning/replacement at some point. Regens only catalyze and remove soot. A regen will not clear out ash. That is what the cleaning or replacement is for.ElmerFudpucker and Thunderstorm87 Thank this. -
Any advice on the DEF system and how to keep it running at peak performance?

Harbor freight scan tool. 300 bucks and reads codes, delete code and will do a forced regen. It will not reset ash levels after filter replacement though.

Seems many have their opinion on Ryan's advice, but I sure follow him and trust what he says.Iceman1643 Thanks this.

I recommend to not overfill your DEF tank. It can potentially cause problems with your DEF Level Sensor and then the computer may think your DEF tank is empty when in fact it’s full which may cause a derate. Once I hear that click from the nozzle I stop.Iceman1643 Thanks this.

Ahhhh.....yea never knew that. I'll start doing that.Thunderstorm87 Thanks this.
