Well no, it isn't a big deal.

Darkstar455, does your company have any owners responsibility paperwork? I retired earlier this year but my company had the paperwork from the CHP where the driver was released from liability for weight, loading, mechanical and registration. We were responsible for HazMat paperwork and placarding. We still had to perform the pre/post trip inspections as well as every time we stopped. I honestly knew nothing nor ever heard of DAC, PSP or CSA before finding this forum.

It happens. You can only do what you can do.

North Carolina I know has them...... Tire Anamoly Monitoring System.... TAMS -
Montana scale near Billings. Inspector told me they have 2 sensors related to tires. 1 measures the roundness of the tires and the other measures the temperature of the tire and the axle hub.

I definitely know that scale in Southern Illinois going southbound back into Missouri has it. I had a little overweight problem there one day so I was sitting there for quite some time. I can't tell you how many trucks got put out of service for a flat tire in about four hours.
Years ago, we used to run recaps on our vans. Had a little trick. every time you stop just go back there and touch your tires. Six or seven might be about the same temperature. There'd be one or two hot. They weren't gonna last long.Big Road Skateboard and Oxbow Thank this. -
To monitor tire pressure and heat anyone use a Tire Pressure Monitoring System? Popular in the diesel motorhomes where a blown tire at best only tears apart body panels.
This one will alert for temperature and pressure out of predefined ranges.

My 2021 KW T680 tractor had tire pressure and temp monitoring. Of course it only monitored wheels on the tractor. In the summers I would get high temp warnings sometimes before I drive 10 miles because the trucks was already 108 F before I started the truck.Deere hunter Thanks this.
