2015 Pete 367 with paccar Mx series believe it’s a 12.9 don’t quote me on that part, truck as been fully deleted no dpf egr none of that been tuned, anytime you use the Jake’s it starts popping through the exhaust and the Jake’s don’t slow you down worth a crap the popping is not terribly loud like a backfire or anything it’s almost kinda like a miss but it’s not a consistent pop it’s like it’ll hit 4 or 5 times then pop for 4 or 5 times was thinking maybe it needs the valves adjusted or the Jake’s need adjusted anybody have any input or experience in a similar situation

Is it an automatic?
-
Absolutely not haha Eaton 8 LL trans furthest I’ve driven a auto was I picked one up from a shop and brought it back for the company once I’m not a fan
-
Is it an actual compression brake or an exhaust brake. Exhaust brakes will do what you describe if the flapper valve is not closing all the way or is burnt.
-
I honestly don’t know for sure from my understanding these late model trucks use a normal Jake paired with an exhaust brake to keep them quieter how do I determine for sure?
-
I just googled paccar mx 13 exhaust brake and there’s nothing like that on my exhaust system so it’s purely a compression Jake
-
If you don't have the factory back pressure valve on the exhaust anymore then your going to have to pull the valve cover and see if something with the compression brake is broken, and it would be a good time to run the overhead as well to eliminate that being a issue.

What’s the valve lash? And how do you adjust the Jake’s if they’re out of adjustment on these
