You can't save anyone who don't want to be saved. To make a broad generalization like the one you're using as an example is plain lazy thinking. We know, at least we should know, that the generalization used only depicts a certain person. I would have no idea how.many folks are if they didn't open their mouth.

To your point about 1865 America, for many people of color, or other minority groups, they will always have those feelings. The path is different for minorities. Sometimes it's intentional, other times it isn't. USA is not liberating for every single person. The thing I've come to notice about thi society is that it thinks everyone should bow to one way of living, one set of values, one way to express one's self, pretty much conservative prototypes. Not everyone lives by conservative ways of thinking. Me personally, the variety of people is what I always thought made the United States so interesting.

What's wrong with an effeminate black guy or a dumb white guy on TV? It's entertainment. That's most likely not who they are in the real world. Now if you're talking about what's worse in the real world, being dumb is by far worse. It's nothing wrong with a man having an effeminate personality. It's probably linked to his sexual orientation, which is his choice and his business.

You've named a lot of sports figures from the past. It's a whole bunch of guys that have honor, pride, and high character that have came and went over the years. They may dress like someone of hip hop culture and be of high character, but you'll never know that because you have become hung up on prototypes and the look. I get it. It's all about hop hop culture, as well as other progressive and new cultures that makes a lot of people uncomfortable. People will be uncomfortable about things they can't understand, or doesn't fit their own ideas.

NOBODY gets to decide for anyone but them self when I have enough information to reach my conclusion. I don't need anyone's permission and I can justify every conclusion. If someone has a personal reason to minimize what is happening, that's their problem and maybe often a sign they are helping to keep this problem growing and spreading. USA gives EVERYONE an opportunity, use it or waste it, or sit around crying, it's not an indictment of the US. The Professional Victims sure accept college scholarships, waste their time and money getting useless degrees that THEY CHOSE and then blame The System for their choices. There are 200 countries in the world and the complainers are not leaving. Planes, trains, ships and cars are leaving every day of the year. People routinely make false accusations to earn points or benefits in society. Those people are evil and their results in life attest to it. I haven't the least bit of guilt for anything in the US and the willingness of people in all 200 other countries to smuggle themselves into the US is proof of which view is correct and which is just an excuse. People that look exactly like The Professional Victims come to the US with nothing and quickly surpass The Professional Victims that sit around wallowing in stories and pity for 8 generations. I don't owe anyone anything and their complaints are not my problem and I won't lift a finger for them. They've gotten all the good will they will get and they've squandered it and ALWAYS want more.

Someone once said "you cannot save someone that doesn't want to be saved".
THAT IS EXACTLY MY POINT. I'm done trying or lying so The Professional Victims can feel better. Reality remains even if we pretend to look away.

    I'm done with this thread.

Someone made a post about how their uncle called them son when they were offering some advice, so I made a joke asking if their uncle was their dad. Apparently, it offended a fair amount of people, even though I wasn't trying to be mean. The stereotype jokes are all fun and games until it might be about you.

When one chooses to identify with a culture that glorifies criminal behavior or appears to, I personally feel one doesn’t get to complain when one gets treated like the way he may choose to carry himself.

And it isn’t just the hip hop culture either. I get funny looks too when I’m wearing biker regalia even though acting like a Hell’s Angel is the furthest thing from my brain.

You know how you negate all this BS? You ignore it, and walk like you’re above it.

Don't disagree one bit. Even though perception is reality, my argument is more along the lines of choosing not to be judgemental by looking at how one carries him/herself in terms of self expression. Everyone has a right to judge if they so please. I don't really agree with that logic and I don't even mind sharing opposing views in a conversation. To try and focus on one's character as opposed to appearance. That's just part of daily self improvement. That's all, my brother.

It definitely can be. It's ok to laugh at TV characters.
