    When I was there we still hauled lots of automotive freight that’s at the US/Mex border as well as a automotive parts from the OE plants to dealers and large return cores such as EV & Hybrid battery packs , engines , transmissions , etc back

    This reminds me of another complaint . We’d get sent to super tight car dealerships with tandem axle daycabs with 53 ft trailers without lift gates . What a nightmare ;

    Meanwhile , other LTL companies roll up in a brand new single axle daycab and a pup with lift gate while getting $8-$15 more per hour

    But, they (Central) seem to hire anyone with a pulse, at least around my neck of the woods. Honestly, the money they're advertising around here makes them look kind of tempting. Yes, I know other LTL outfits pay better and are generally better companies. But at what price?

    I could go to UPS and make a very nice living. And put up with the endless nit-picking that I hear their drivers complain about all the time. Same with SAIA, ABF, Old Dominion.

    Or go to the likes of Central and make a little less, and mostly be left alone.
    I personally would rather be left alone to do my job and not be bothered.

    It all in how one chooses to look at things.

    They really do . They even hired me with no hazmat endorsement and I never even got pushed to get it , lol

    They do leave you alone that was my favorite thing . I was never micromanaged

    oh and they had no direct deposit . We got paper checks and this wasn’t that long ago (I left in 2022)

    Supposedly, back in the day, Matty Maroun, who owned Central, owned a lot of apartments, and condo's in the Detroit area. He would lease them to auto execs, for a low price, in exchange for contracts for hauling their freight.

    all so true

    God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

    The absolute sheer driving force of our national economy - without truck drivers, our entire national economy would come to an absolute standstill - if not outright be dead.

    Over the mountains, through the woods, into the valleys, coast to coast, from sea to shining sea - truck drivers can and do go anywhere and everywhere, every day, every night, all year round.

    Many people from 3rd world countries have a survival instinct that 1st worlders don't. It's tough to eek out a living in a place where everything and everyone is watching their own back all the time. They come here to start a sham business because Americans tend to let their guard down. It makes for easy pickings. The laws pertaining to this industry are jaded and it's a "let the buyer beware" type of business.
