LOL...the only thing I stop in Corning for is a few jars of olives for Christmas gifts. I don't think I've patronized a Corning truck stop since Dudley and Petty went out of business.
No real reason, I just don't like truck stops and since we have key-lock fuel everywhere there's no need to subject myself to the prices and the multi-cultural babble.
I do enjoy seeing the people spend their money at the various casinos. We appreciate the contribution.
H-O-E used to be a good place to stop until the tourists and the out of state truckers discovered it. I think the last time I stopped there was in the late 70s.

I have always wondered if those Grizzellas (maybe the name) Olives were good. LOL
For me the one creepy stop @ heaven on earth was late 1990's very early 2000's , and that was one weird experience. Erie to say the least. By then I figured that tourists were the only business they got. None of the people there that night were tourists or Truckers. Ghosts maybe and not friendly ones.
Casinos are a whole dif issue , too much to be said.
REO6205 Thanks this. -

Yup. That's my go-to place for huge pastrami sandwiches. They're great. when the old building burned down we were all worried about what would replace it. No fear...it's better now than it used to be.kemosabi49, mjd4277, The_vett and 1 other person Thank this.

Just got by here. All the doors are shut down here. Completely abandoned. Parking lot is still open as of right now
-
Dang that’s so weird. Going to take away a huge parking area that’s for sure
-
So why did they close?
-
As far as I know, because the property was bought, and they didn't want what was there. I am curious myself. I made a couple guesses , and thats it. If you read all the posts , you know that Rolling Hills Casino has some parking and nice showers, and that is about all we know for sure. But that is a block away from the property that was bought. You got any ideas?D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

Rolling hills is a few miles away. There’s a petro and loves next door
-
Update. Parking lot is now completely fenced in. Store abonded and boarded up, fuel island is tore down. No more parking here anymore unfortunatly.
Used to be u could get a spot at the petro across the street anytime if day probably no longer the case with them fencing the parking lot in at the TA. There was still plenty of trucks parking there even after the store was closed down.gentleroger, The_vett, JC1971 and 2 others Thank this.
