I would keep it period. If something changes in your life and you need to drive again then it will be a PAIN to get it back. Keep it as it is don't change anything. Get a new DOT physical every two years or how ever often the doctor tells you to.

I let my CDL go when I retired. I drove my whole adult life. I was tired and wore out. Now days I take surface streets and back roads, very seldom do I get on the big road. Memories are good, but that's as close as I want to get to a big rig. Retired and sold out 8 years ago.

My med card expires 12/18 (today is 12/10) but my knee is not yet well enough to pass the physical.
So, it will lapse and be downgraded to a 'normal' class 4 in MN.
I have a 1 year grace period to submit a new physical and self-certify before I have to start all over again with a CDL permit.

    Wargames Thanks this.
