Our cryo trailers equipped with hydraulic are extremely loud. If I need to make a phone call, it usually involves me walking to the front of the truck or inside the cab.

Most of the noise seemed to be coming from whatever was discharging from the pipe. Is hydraulic a hydraulically driven pump? I guess what I couldn’t figure out how so much was being vented to the atmosphere in terms of product and soundviper822004 Thanks this.

Was it a hot fill perhaps?
viper822004 Thanks this. -
CO2 is probably louder when it’s being vented because of the higher pressures of around 300psi. But now that I am thinking about it. That noise you heard was probably him venting the customers tank which can be extremely loud. Even louder than when we can our own trailers

Hot fill is when you’re going to fill a customers tank for the first time and the tank is sitting at ambient temperature. It can also be when a customers tank runs out of product and it has been sitting empty with no product in it.
Both of these is what we call a hot fill. You need a tech with you per Air Products policy in order to fill it. Unless you know what you’re doing because you can crack the tank.LTL Bull Thanks this. -
Yeah I’ve seen lots of guys doing cryo over the years as it seems many time the bulk stuff unloading areas are near each other. This is an established facility I’ve been to many times so I don’t think it was a new tank, maybe had work done but definitely been there awhile. It was just amazingly loudviper822004 Thanks this.

Lol. Sorry. Thought you were asking what a hot fill was. Read it too quick

170k each? even at that, you know what the taxes on 170 is? Im just not a team guy.viper822004 Thanks this.
-
Yes $170 each. I mean you can find ways to not pay taxes. Like retirement accounts and investments. Unless you need all that money now then yes, it’s a lot of taxes

answer: develop a relationship with the gas company, no matter which third party you work for, always put the gas company first.
