I'm a new driver was out for 2 half weeks with a trainer and we both could have done better with communication.
I will not pass all fault on him.
I told my recruiter and him and one of the owners called and talked to us.
The conversation went very well and they said trust the process.
Two days later as we dropped a load the recruiter called and told me to get my stuff they was sending a Uber to pick me up and bus me back to the company terminal.
They put me up in a hotel and will be getting picked up in the morning, to go to the yard.
He said that they wanted to talk to me and said they felt it's best to remove me from that trainer.
I was his first trainee and dude just stayed on the phone constantly and he in my opinion had way to much personal stuff going on to be focused on training someone.
He was a smart guy with a lot of knowledge but he just could not communicate properly and most the time was condescending.
    I felt that anyways.
I sighed off on all his reports weekly and it was positive though.

    Any tips and advice thanks

Positive and humble attitude. You have already put some on display here. If you can "play the game" to win, training is but a flash in your career. There'll be lot of opportunities to practice this during your career. Good luck!

Thank you, it just got me a Lil uneasy, but other drivers with the company said I'm gonna be OK, if it was something else I would have been put on a bus back home not to the terminal.
But it's normal I'm guessing when you question things

Ask yourself if there is anything you could have done to better student. Take a real hard look. Then vocalize that if asked at the terminal. Then when you get your new trainer, talk to them about what concerns you had that became a challenge to your training. Reiterate to your chain of command, your trainer and to yourself your need to be successful and your commitment to getting every nugget of training you can. Last bit of advice. Even bad training can be good training if you recognize it an apply the lessons. You are in charge of you and what you do with any knowledge, is your reflection. Best!

    Yes sir
    I've been reflecting on that.
Another driver said man I believe they gonna road test you and go from there.
I did not mind my other trainers ways, I simply asked him to communicate better.
I was toughing it out and even he asked why are they pulling me that everything is going good.
But yes sir I keep a positive attitude at all times regardless if I like it or not , I do know this is temporary and have the mindset that whatever I face can only make me stronger and try to gain tools I can use to better myself, even if those tools I don't agree with.

I had two trainers in a row who weren’t good at the task. The first guy wouldn’t let me drive half of the time, and the second was a perpetually angry shouter who was a terrible teacher. My third trainer was great, and after two weeks with him, I was out solo in my own truck.

    Hang in there!

    Hey thanks!
I got plenty of patience, I'm do what I got to do and just keep a fresh positive outlook.
I will be so glad when I am out on my own , because even then I know I'm gonna be learning so much and figuring out my own style and way of doing things.

He is new with the company and I was his first trainee.
Sadly they they didn't find a middle ground and had no other trainer available, so I stepped away, did not like the atmosphere, after doing more in depth research I've found they are notorious for this.
So I'm stuck looking for another company.

You got this! Not everyone is suited to be a trainer, and the company may be realizing that now.

    Rideandrepair and Albertaflatbed Thank this.
