I had a feeling this was coming. The last few times I've been there, there was hardly anyone inside the casino and all the other times driving by, hardly any cars in the parking lot. That place used to be booming. I guess the California Indian casinos killed it.

I should point out the Flying J is still open but the showers were still down i.e. they don't want to pay someone to clean them.

I live a few miles from Whiskey Pete's and not surprised. Looks nice, but visitors can drive another few miles and be on the Las Vegas Strip.
Hope Whiskey Pete's can be repurposed for something else; maybe condo's and other housing.broke down plumber and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this. -
Might be time to move Bonnie and Clyde's shot-up car back to Louisiana.

I think Six Flags should build an amusement park there. That's one thing Vegas doesn't have. A big water park like Raging Waters in L.A. would be popular in the hotter months, also. I think it would attract huge crowds. They could even build a bigger hotel and casino for the people who want to stay a couple days on the way to or from Vegas or it could be a destination in itself. Of course, it would require a huge investment.

Army Corps of Engineers had the best idea, but that will never happen either.
Divert 10% of Mississippi River water to flow West. That 10% will go into the ocean anyway, so may as well use it to supply water Westward.
There's a natural lay of the land that can be used for that. Would need some serious engineering to work on it. The 10% water would be diverted just before it reaches the ocean and would flow to New Mexico, then pumping stations would take over and send the water to Arizona and Southern Nevada.silverspur and broke down plumber Thank this. -
