I think the big problem for me is everyone is using filters now for applications and if you don’t have certain things on your resume like garbage truck driving experience or waste industry experience for a garbage driving position . your resume will not even be seen by a recruiter . A lot more companies seem to use this technique to filter out applicants. I’m just tired of all the ups and downs of general freight and if i got hired on to drive a roll off or front loader i should never be out of work or worry about technology taking my job . I can’t see a self driving roll of truck because of what’s involved or any garbage truck . a human will always be needed in that industry
I have applied to atleast 5-7 different driving jobs with no response even with my 16 years experience and clean cvor . The old saying that you can always get another driving job if you’re experienced and have a clean record doesn’t seem true right now
Any list of Canadian companies hiring and training for AZ?

Yea "applicant tracking systems" are going to be the end of civilization if you ask me. Also remember, that Business Insider just exposed, that 80% of online job ads in Canada and the US are fake, and don't exist.
My dad told me the only way to get hired in anything, is to talk to someone. I got all my trucking jobs thru referral from other drivers (Except Heyl, but they were desperate and had 50 ad's out, which I should have picked up on sooner lol). Same with Oil and Gas and Trades, I've actually only been hired three times by applying to an add, in my 25 years of working. If you see a roll off truck, just go talk to the driver, they seem pretty chill and willing to chat. Also yes, dump trucks, Garbage, Tanker, Flatbed, Heavy Haul will never be replaced by technology. That's just for Van/Reefer and Amazon lol.zakman Thanks this. -
