Another UP derailment

I wish everyone would realize that when they hear the news misreport on a subject they're familiar with, that most likely they're misreporting on subjects you aren't familiar with as well.

 

I understand your point, and I don't disagree, but some of these 'misreports' are an absolute blunder.

I can understand not knowing the difference between self-propelled artillery and a tank, but misidentifying a locomotive, and calling that locomotive a "yellow rail car" easily qualifies as such a blunder.

I was trying to be nice. The sheer ignorance of the general world among most of our culture is frightening. They can tell you who the latest hootchie du jour popstar is sleeping with this week, but they have zero useful real world knowledge or skills. Tightening a screw is beyond them. And the scariest part is there is zero intellectual curiosity to learn more.

Who believes the media in this day and age, all smart people get their news from facebook and instagram.

 

It's safe to say we're doomed as a civilization. The last two brain cells these two have left are struggling for third place.
