you missed the freedom while you were leasing???seriously??? what is freedom in your opinion?? how can you have freedom when you lease and work under some's authority??
-
so, you made "good money" but when your truck broke down , prime "will front the money for repair"? seriously?? what is "good money" for you? more than what you made as McDonald employee?? you made good money , but you did not have the money to take care of your equipment?
unfortunately, people like yourself are helping big companies and mega carriers to destroy this industry. you are a cheap labor . that is the reason those companies can lower their rates, because of you guys.Rookie driver 956 Thanks this. -
This the stupid idea that most truckers have regarding being O/O. I'm 100% independent O/O and I can tell you that I've never drove more than 60k miles per year. no contracts and I make more money than most "O/O" make, because I work smart . I drive when broker pays my rate and I don't do back hauls.( that is the most stupid way of doing business) I drive when I get pay what I ask , period. and I have been doing this for over 11 years. lately, after 2022, Ive been driving 3k-4k miles per month, so I have more time than is needed to run my business.Crazytrucker77 and sirjeff Thank this.

I did it for 6 years. I was doing well until last year. I kept the doors open until 6 months ago. Decided the money I was making wasn't worth the risk anymore.2023 I only profited 35k for the year and 2024 22k when I moved on. I now work a local gig 40hrs week and on track to make 52k a year.
broke down plumber, bzinger and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
Leasing is a good option if you’re prepared and aware that the first few weeks won’t be the best. After all, that truck will eventually be yours, and you need to cover expenses like registration, insurance, and other costs. I started with one company and earned around $1,500 during the first month because there were more expenses at that time. After that initial period, I was able to make up to $5,000 in clean profit. Unfortunately, I had to leave the job due to an injury, but I’m planning to return and lease a truck again

Is that right? Maybe I'll go sign up for some lease purchase scam.
