Oh yeah, you're tough. You actually pulled out your drivers license and showed it to a rent a cop who makes $7.00 an hour. And, then tried to justify yourself by showing them what you were actually doing.

Why didnt ya just tell them to eat #### and keep going if you are so tough?

You can have them fired if you wanted to??? Really?

Come on tell the truth, you pee'd yourself just a lil didnt ya...

No, it's a total ripoff. The price goes down all year, should start around $35. By the time they get the new ones in, they've got the year old ones priced at $5. I've seen them for .99 cents and even a couple racks with FREE! signs. Really, highways don't move around that much over the course of 12 months.

As for pictures being illegal, nope. Public place, whether it's private property (what isn't) doesn't matter. That's pretty funny, throwing the idiot duo for a loop like that. Wish I could have seen it.

The $80 atlas he's talking about is most likely the large scale one, which does not offer any more detail than the regular laminated atlases. It's just a larger print. Save your money and by the regular print laminated for 20-30 bucks.

You do have to be commended for doing your research on companies. There are a whole lot of companies out there beside the normal bottom feeders that we all love to hate.
A little internet research and knowledge will hopefully payoff in your job search.

that's what i figured. i think when he pulled out my license (are you allowed to do THAT?) he saw my airport clearance badge and any idiot knows if you work at the airport then you work and associate with Metro. the second he saw my big green badge, he knew i knew he was bs'ing about calling the cops. as for the guy fantasizing about me wearing wet pants, not at all sir--if i were in north las vegas, then maybe i'd be terrified, most definitely...but the TA is across the strip from the airport. any cop that patrols around the TA has probably been badged and screened by me. i know everybody who works that part of town. haha

Your story is kinda funny... However, alot of these truck stops have signs posted CDL holders only in the truck parking lots.

Especially in high crime areas... off the top of my head I have seen the signs for sure at the TA in Dallas, the Petro in W. Memphis.

Our company had a loaded trailer stolen from a truck stop in Las Vegas last week. So you can see where security is suspicious of someone walking around taking pictures of trucks.

You did mention that the gaurds said that the truckers were nervous. If I had seen you, I would not have confronted you myself, but would have reported your "strange" activity to the fuel desk... I am sure thats exactly what happend in your case. A driver or drivers reported you.

Unfortunantly I have seen the body of a trucker found under his trailer, beaten to death... The guy's truck was parked as close to the fuel island in a legally marked spot as you could get, with the best lighting in the whole truck stop and it didnt prevent what happend to him.

A driver has to always be aware of his surroundings... if something is out of place or doesnt seem right... in your case YOU taking pictures (as innocent as it seems to you) a driver should report it. In that situation how is a driver to know that you arent doing "recon" for a load heist.(and dont kid yourself that it doesnt happen, cuz it really does)

Drivers can agree that nearly all box trailers and trucks are somewhat similiar... however the major diffrence that no one can see, is whats being carried in the box. It could be millions of dollars of perscription drugs, or 45k lbs of loose potatoes... Do you want your trailer filled with potatoes mistaken for a trailer with HDTVs?

i'm pretty sure that's the deal, because the first thing i noticed before i flipped to the upc code was how much bigger it seemed. for whatever reason though, they have two shelves of the big one and no more little ones. =(
