Happy new year. Can anyone give me a quick pointer about how to safely remove the electrical connector on a Cummins ISX CM871 fuel actuator? The two red ones in the picture need new gaskets, which I bought yesterday, to seal up a tiny leak. I've never had to remove the rear two, the front two were done by someone else. Looks like three torx bit screws and the electrical connection then I can replace the gasket pretty easily.
Thanks
Sophia

I think it’s just has a tab that you depress and pull it out. If you pull the rubber boot down it should be facing you.

Thank for the reply...I'll try that...

Looking at the pic it looks to be tamper proof torx. Cummins paints the whole thing, so I’d give the Torx bit a couple little taps before trying to turn.

Took a closer picture....found the release tab for the electrical connection...thank you. Also the previous picture was probably bad lighting....thank goodness they appear to be regular torx !!Heavyd Thanks this. -
Clean the area really good before you disassemble it.

For any sensor, ECM or actuator harness connector, I like smear a bit of Grote Ultra Seal in there for protection, anti-corrosion and make it nice and easy to take apart next time.
