No worries on the getting stuck, first week out in my brand new automatic Mack back in 2017, up in Elmore AL I was a bit overweight, I headed back to the usual dump off spot and commenced to burying myself right up by the scale house for the whole world to see, the wonderful auto decided to try and shift in the soft stuff while making my turn, and out of sight I went. It was that day that I learned manual mode in an auto is your friend![]()

I’ve been stuck so many times in landfills I don’t even give af anymore. I just pop the hood put in my tow hooks and wait to flag down the next poor sap coming by in a piece of machinery. My most embarrassing was at the power plant in KCK. We were doin barrel work for them and my first day on the job I thought I was being slick and cutting across their big gravel lot to their exit. That big gravel lot was a sand filtration area, I made it about 15 feet and sunk past the axles.

Lol yea im not too concerned just more annoyed at the tow bill. Had to call a wrecker to come get me. Was $700 bleah. But im glad they had a dude on staff. Next nearest that was open couldnt get to me till afternoon today and the other wanted $2800Rugerfan and motocross25 Thank this.

$2800 is criminal! Good lord. Where did they send you after that?
-

Since I moved to Texas I been staying out longer. Not on purpose by any means, but it's just not working out as well as Illinois did for home time. So for now it's back to Otr life again for a bit. Going home most weekends in Illinois really spoiled me though! I can't seem to get into any kinda normal rhythm now.

I’m mostly an out and back kind of guy these days, living in central Florida works out good for the lanes we run, left Sunday this week, home Monday, delivered and pre loaded Tuesday, left Wednesday and home tonight, deliver and pre loaded tomorrow. The most consecutive nights out in 2024 was 3, sorry you’re finding yourself back OTR @Professor No-Name things have changed so much out here in the last few years that even the thought of having to be out for the week makes me cringe, I used to enjoy it.
Professor No-Name and motocross25 Thank this. -
Back and home and done grocery shopping before Snowmageddon is supposed to hit. Kind of a slow week but that’s alright. In a bit I’ll be wishing for one so I’ll take the time while I can. Dumped salt in Omaha Thursday night, loaded glass back to KC. There’s talks of a Texas run in my future next week, I’ll take it!

You may be getting the other el paso load. Neat! And yea i feel ya the lull was nice and i enjoyed it but i want to be busy.
Unrelated note
Had a steer tire bubble up on me. Stupid cheap chinese came with the new truck tires. This is why we do our walk arounds when we stop. Imagine if i hit the road like that XD.
Also this one started venting air from that buble near the sidewall when they pulled the core. It also has close to a dozen patches inside it.motocross25 Thanks this.
