Well had a pretty good night, went from Savannah to Beaufort SC loaded, from Beaufort dead headed to Charleston to load, Loaded # Hess to deliver a split in Columbia. From Columbia dead headed to N. Augusta to pick up a load for Savannah, delivered in Savannah, from Savannah to the yard, from the yard to the house. It took me 13 hours with pre trip and post trips to get this work done. I had to wait for some one to load me and didn't properly plan my trip, and got temporly misoriented (lost) up in Columbia. See myself doing this work in 11.5 hours once I find my grove. Made $292 with Safety meeting. Enjoyed the challange of getting this amount of work done when my co-workers said it can't be done. The word can't is nothing more than a individuals expression of not wanting to try.

Nice! So it seems you guys have regularly set runs that are packaged the same everyweek..or a mix depending on customer needs.
-
Well actually it is all based on custumer needs. The run from Charleston to Columbia was another Terminals load, but they have been subcontracting some of these loads out. I didn't know that but when I go to N. Augusta from Beaufort I see a sign that says Charleston 67 miles. So I stared jumping up and down on my dispatchers desk demanding this run. Getting loaded up in Charleston has the potential to slow me down. I politely asked the driver to load me but was prepared to make him an offer he couldn't refuse. It shouldn't be to dificult to get these loading privalages, just got to make it my bussness to get it done.

Good job mac sounds like a good run and good money. Yeah john, I had also put in an app online at kag they called me wed and Thursday had an app in the mail from them. I'm also gonna check out some others, but eagle was my first choice and close to the house.

Check out Pope, I realley believe all the Corperate Companys are the same but KAG is just trying to be to aggressive at the expense of there drivers. I heard some refer to them as the Swift of Gas Haulers. I know alot of there drivers seem pretty happy there though. Don't give up though Gas hauling is good work

If you can't get on with Eagle right now just go ahead and get on anywhere you can haulin' gas. Stay there a year or two and then put in an application with Eagle and you shouldn't have any trouble getting on with us. We literally have "scads" of ex-Kenan drivers working with Eagle right now ... I'd say that at least 1/3 of our drivers in Charlotte are ex-Kenan ... so if you're heart is set on Eagle, don't give up, pick up some experience that Eagle wont be able to say "no" to and make some money while you are at it. There's more than one way to skin a cat!!!

That's what I entend to do. I believe I will end up some where, I do have plenty of experience with tankers and haz materials. I'm gonna keep trying and see what happens.

I don't know if I missed it or not. Does Eagle hire newbies? Or have a training program. I am going to check their site now.
-
just found this on their website.
If you are 23 years of age, have a CDL with proper endorsements, 2 years tractor trailer driving experience, and a driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years, we would like to talk with you about a career at Eagle Transport. Tanker experience a plus (and we will pay for experience), but not required. Will consider experience along with formal driver/classroom training. -
Yeah, they will need at least 2 years of tractor trailer experience ... so go ahead and get your credentials in order and then come back to us ... Eagle will still be here, waiting and in need of good people always.
Still havn't figured out what the problem is with Claredog ... methinks it must have something to do with the folding up of his last employers ... or being able to document what happened, but he will do fine no matter where he goes ... you can't keep a good man down!
