Messer = one who makes messes
Slogan: "Messer -- Gases for life"
Combine the above -- then can you see some potential levity there...?![]()
I fail to see how upper management doesn't have a good sense of humor.
I can only imagine what it would be like to tell friends &/or family about this employer -- & see if the listeners can usually keep a straight face ...&/or not make a smart remark or two....
Must be a fun place to work....

Oh. Messer is a surname, named after the German founder. Messer also means "knife" in German. I just assumed the "Gases for Life" was because they deliver oxygen to hospitals.RockinChair Thanks this.

Other carriers have names that basically beg to be mocked, as well....
Werner ~ Weiner
Western Express ~ Welfare Express
J B Hunt ~ J B <<<edited for content>>>
Anyway, you get the idea....

What can i do to improve my chances at the la porte terminal LOL. Got the necessary qualifications but cant seem to get a call back. 3rd time applyingviper822004 Thanks this.

Since this is Texas that we're talking about....
If this is your THIRD ATTEMPT -- then clearly, on your application...under "other skills/qualifications"....you have not included any info or description about any culinary skills involving a smoker: think BRISKET, ribs, etc.
In today's rather tight CDL job market -- you have to be sure to tailor your application to your specific intended audience....

That’s a tough one but they like to see job stability. 1 year or longer at your current job.
One thing that will definitely get you a call back from at least talent acquisition is getting a referral from one of their drivers. Talk to a driver out of Laporte and ask if you can use them as a referral, it will automatically get your job application looked by talent acquisition.AlexCLT Thanks this. -
Apply to a team position and the recruiter will contact you in a week.Lightfoot71, AlexCLT, scythe08 and 2 others Thank this.

Linde uses the AI cameras. Our boss pretty much said the main focus was drowsy driving. They can tell if your head is bobbing up and down like youre falling asleep and it will notify....someone that you appear to be tired. I've been messing with the #### thing since I was hired on in September and I haven't gotten scolded yet. I asked my boss if I have had any drive cam events and he started laughing and said ,"Yes, you've had a few. But they were ok" He wont tell me how I'm triggering it.AlexCLT and viper822004 Thank this.

Weird. We just had a meeting as well at Air Products to let us know that they’re rolling out the drowsy AI cam in Samsara. But our cam lets us know when we’ve triggered it. It’s not silent.

I would assume that initial process is like Linde. It can take several weeks to even get a notice back. We've had 2 new hire hires(Before me) that had zero tank experience, but had clean driving records and one had 4 years exp, the other 8 years. Cryo is pretty slow in alot of areas right now. I would get on linked in and see if you can find a recruiter for airgas that has a profile on there and you can contact them directly or maybe google it. Your application maybe getting knocked out of the app pool by filters looking for specific words or something. Going over your app letter by letter. Dont lie, cryo companies LOVE background checks and verifying EVERYTHING!
Me: F U Linde*said silently* I'm not giving you W2's from 10 years ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Linde: Yes, you are.
Me: Yes, I am. I'll scan them right now.viper822004 Thanks this.
