Looks like I'm gonna be running this area more often.
Anyone with experience out in the area and say if it's worth it to avoid tolls through Louisville?
Louisville Clark memorial bridge, worth it to avoid tolls?

You go thru part of city and lanes are skinny. So 10-15 minutes or $13.50 or whatever it is
-
Would u say during traffic time it would suck and probably not worth it but maybe ok over night?
-
Yes and going south seems easierKenworth6969 Thanks this.

Used to do it all the time both north & southbound it's not too bad.
flood and Kenworth6969 Thank this. -
I have been across it many times in a semi over the years. Is it worth it to avoid the toll? Absolutely not to me anymore. I did it occasionally in years past to avoid the toll but not anymore. It will cost you 10-15 minutes on a good day with no traffic and you still have to worry about some jackwad either passing you and sideswiping you or someone coming into your lane and hitting you head on. The center lane is the only safe lane for a semi truck to be in because the outside lanes have a huge curb and a semi just barely fits in the lane. The Sysco driver was likely on the bridge because there are restaurants on both sides and she didn’t cause the wreck, but there is no room for error on this bridge. No room for error is the reason I avoid it at this point in my life/career. You can avoid the toll by going to the west end of 265/64/264 and it will cost you roughly 10 miles but generally not much traffic except at rush hours. I still go through town most days.Kenworth6969, cuzzin it and RockinChair Thank this.

I do the bypass all the time day/night..
Adds about 10min and 8 miles. Saves about $8. Saves you from going thru louisville and all the crap going onto Indiana.
North is I-65 north, I-264 west, I-64 west, I-265 east, I-65 north.. south is reverse.Kenworth6969 Thanks this. -
The toll doesn't cost that much really. If you're coming north or south on 65, I don't really know of a viable way to get around it. I suppose you could go west on 265 and come back through downtown on 64, but the speed limit is 40 going in on 64, or you could use Watterson, but will probably eat up too much time. I actually think Watterson can be a pain at times. You better get an EZ Pass and save a few bucks.

going south on I-65 to I-265 west to I-64 east cross the state line take the 1st exit in KY I-264 to I-65 south. No need to go thru down town. Slowest speed is 55mph. The bypass adds about 8min and saves about $8 over the tollbryan21384 Thanks this.

I would try to detour it if possible. Just depends on the circumstance of the time. I personally do not go through it. But your choice.
