Welcome aboard, and we're all about yapping on this bus. I'm from Wisconsin and more freight moves out of your area than most others, you are in the right place. We have a resident recruiter( turned doctor wannabe) named Chinatown, and he can steer you in whatever direction you want. Once started, he'll post a dozen great companies that would kill for a driver like you. Experience you have is a huge plus. A lot of reefers still comes out of Wisconsin, and you should have no problem getting on with a company with large cars. Badger State Western out of Abbotsford, ( all new KWhoppers) is a good company, does a lot to the west coast and Green Bay or Fox Valley, I'm sure you are familiar with. How important is pay per mile to you? Holland, up in Fargo, has probably the longest length of haul and treats drivers pretty well from what I’ve heard. The pay per mile is a little low IMO, but I’d say it comes out about the same as most places per hour when you factor in unpaid dock hours doing 5-700 mile runs.

Most of the upper Midwest meat haulers have a decent amount of long runs mixed in, but gonna be dealing with overnight 300 mile runs as well, courtesy of Tyson.
