Was given a load assignment to pick up at a Red Gold tomato processing plant in Alexandria, IN.
Got there late, because my appointment time was 10:00am, but I was not able to legally move my truck until 10:40am and it was 2 hours travel time to the shipper.
Shipper requires that you check in via some self-serve kiosk, and when I punched in all my info, it told me that I was late (true!) and I now owed them a $45 late fee.
Welp, okay, ain't my money. And also not my fault that I was late. So I moseyed out to the truck to request an EFS MoneyCode via our Qualcomm.
Half an hour goes by with no response. So I called HQ and got ahold of someone in the office and asked them if they could expedite this process. They told me they could, and mere minutes later I had a MoneyCode for my $45 EFS check.
Went back in to the shipping office and gave them my check. And after a couple of moments, they gave it back. Seems that this load is a Sam's Club load, and they don't charge late fees on those loads. The kiosk was wrong.
Woulda been nice to know 30 minutes earlier.ncmickey, Knucklehead, hotrod1653 and 6 others Thank this. -
Delivered a load of plumbing supplies in prince george yesterday then picked up a load of pet food in king williams to a walmart dc in coldwater, Mi. Been working with veterans united to take out a VA home loan to purchase my first ever house, I must say they are pretty expedient and making the whole process easy. Got preapproved and house hunting. Got approved for way more house than I need, always try to live under my means being it is way less stressful to live as simple as possible. Always followed my great grandma’s advice when I could of if you don’t have the money in the bank you can’t afford it. Sometimes you gotta finance stuff though. She lived through the great depression though and didn’t trust banks and kept all her money hidden throughout the house. Being history buff I loved sitting and chatting with her before she passed 12 yrs ago.

A lot of drivers make backing way more difficult than it needs to be, especially the non-english folks….

Fatal accident on I57 had traffic backed up for 25 miles. Decided to run 64 to 45 and back roads to WM yard. Ended up pcing two hrs to the yard since no parking available at all anywhere. Hate winter, even if no snow or ice places get full by 1500 I swear. Drivers these days seem to only drive 300-400 miles then park it everyday. Got up and discovered a nail in one of my drives. Get sent to petro and tell me pull up to bay 1. I sit there for a while then mechanic calks then hangs up before I can answer and pulls somebody else ahead of me in bay 5. Tries to argue with me trying to blame me for going to the wrong bay. Idiot techs these days….
