So I had a license suspension in 2008 for failure to pay a ticket and I’m curious if I need to still put this on my applications when they ask if you have had license suspension since it was almost 20 years ago cause I always wonder if it will hurt my job chances
Application question, old license suspension.

Does the app specify a time period of the license suspension, or does it ask if you've had a license suspension at any time? You answer the question as it's asked. It won't impact your job prospects negatively. They just don't want any surprises on the background check.
Lite bug, tscottme, broke down plumber and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yea they usually say at anytime which is why I always include it. Cause I don’t want to seem like I’m hiding it. Was just curious if it was going to hurt even though it was so long ago and not for something wreckless just mailed a ticket payment and it got lost was a whole thingbroke down plumber and bryan21384 Thank this.

Just pay attention to exactly how the question is worded. Don’t lie and leave it off but also don’t list it if it asks about the last 10 years or something. Being that old I doubt it will hurt you at this point, especially if it was before you had a CDL.
tscottme and broke down plumber Thank this. -
Yeah it won't hurt your chances at landing a job. My license got suspended for an unpaid ticket back in 2010. It was no big deal. Still got hired at different jobs over the years.Accidental Trucker, tscottme, Long FLD and 1 other person Thank this.

You should be fine. Being it was in 08, Most MVR's only go back 10 years

Gee, I had my license suspended in 1978, when I was 17. It didn't keep me from getting my New York Chauffer's License back then (that's what we had before there was a national CDL).
