Assuming that your driver is the one who actually disabled your LoJack I suspect he did something with the truck. Possibly still using it to make some cash.
He could have simply tossed the transponder in the trash and kept on rolling.

At this point I would close deactivate my authority. If it rolls through a scale with your current dot number then they’ll stop him…run the vin and arrest him.

If he hasn’t made all of your deposits then you could get him on an embezzlement charge..

    Just throwing some thoughts around..

The truck was stolen. The driver might have "abandoned" it but now it's not where he left it. So somebody stole it from the truckstop at this point OR the driver handed it off to another party for them to take it.

This can be more than a civil issue if you can pressure the police hard enough because unauthorized use of a motor vehicle is a criminal act.

Go directly to your state's attorney's office if you must but this is indeed a criminal matter at this point because your driver could be part of the disappearance.

Maybe I'm paranoid, but this story has "Gary Hilton The Serial Killer" type vibes.

Come to the office one day and find him there with a crazy look on his face.

    "Can we talk?"

    "No, we can't. "

Unless I missed something, can't you get a warrant for his arrest thru his local jurisdiction? You have his DL number, his address, and Social Security number. I doubt he moved to another state and changed his SS number. How about a pic and description of the rig? I run the south, especially TX/OK/AR and can keep an eye out. I frequent the small fuel stops and some of those will have trucks that look like they've been abandoned and used for parts.

What charges do they arrest him on?

If the OP posted a picture of the equipment that would be a great idea.

I agreed with everything you said! This is exactly why I don’t understand why the insurance is just wiping their hands of it.

I tried their police said they need the report from Florida. I told them I have a copy of the report, they stated it has to come directly from my police. It really sucks that we have to jump through all these hoops when we have done everything correctly and still don’t get the help we need. This is why I’m posting on here so that none of you have to go to through this BS!!!!

    Your police can't / won't do that?

It wasn't state to state, but I had a situation where a jurisdiction would not do for me what they were supposed to do.

They told me my jurisdiction had to call them for them to do anything, which was not correct.

The sergeant of our municipality called their sergeant, and instantaneously it was done.

There's nothing they can do like that?
