Maybe I’m totally lost here, but if you are the owner of the trucking Co. And he is your driver, why is he depositing $ into your account?
Shouldn’t you be sending him paychecks weekly or whatever you two agreed to?
Driver abandoned truck and trailer.

Sometime in auto transport the customer will pay you on delivery, most times they either give the driver a check and on rare occasions they pay him cash. With checks he would just take a picture and I can remote deposit with a picture of the check. With cash or a cashier check he has to deposit.silverspur and Speedy356 Thank this.

Ok now that makes sense!

I can't say anything to make this better, I'm sorry he did this to you. People here are pointing out that you did things that probably weren't real smart, but you are the victim here. You didn't do anything wrong.
Just understand abandoning equipment does not make it auto theft. If he walks away from it, he didn't steal it. If someone else steals it, he's not responsible for it. It's just the way the #### cookie crumbles.
I had my motorcycle stolen from under my carport 3 weeks after I was shot in an armed robbery at work. I'd never had anyone steal anything on my property, and yet right in the time frame when I was gone it got stolen. I had kept it chained up with an alarm, but the alarm system caught fire when I washed the bike in February. I got shot in March, didn't go back home and the bike was stolen first week of April. I will probably never see that motorcycle again.Dino soar and brian991219 Thank this. -
I thought this was a class 8 tractor. Now that I know it's a pick up there's a very high chance he's still driving that truck and I bet he's hauling with it. If you don't get with your state's attorney you'll never get your equipment back.

The truck is in Mexico. Literally. Someone noticed it sitting and it went south. It's south of I-10. Probably thousands of miles south of I-10.

Use Zelle or CashApp to get paid on c.o.d. deliveries. The money goes directly to you.

Sorry to hear this tragic tale, but I hope it works out for you.
I can only suggest hide, (and I do mean hide,) apple air tag
or something similar, for you to ping if there is an issue.
This would be a third, or fail-safe layer, for you.
It's locking the barn after the horse, and all that, but......
Nothing beats hands on; you, yourself looking.
You have his address, just don't confront; surveil his location.
Fly in and get a rental, sit a block away, where U have clear view.
six grand in cash can make some people flashy show offs.
See the neighbor across the street, nearest fuel stop,
nosy old lady on the corner, nearest corner beer store, etc.
Local tltty bar is a showoffs downfall, him trying to be cool.
Somebody knows something. Try the truck stop personally.
There are shifts there, show pix around on both shifts.
Maybe not initially, but if you keep pulling on the threads,
it may eventually give you bits and pieces to put together.
Also, your insurance company has a big staff of lawyers,
and they have fraud investigators they network with,
Try a corporate number, not your agent, possibly you get
a sympathetic ear? Keep calling and asking for
another number, until U get a number of someone
interested in solving a puzzle?
That's a lot of loss not to try something.
Best of luck, and keep us postedDino soar Thanks this. -
Dammmm sorry to hear that are you ok ??

The truck is reported stolen so unless he changed the tags he would get caught easily.Iamoverit Thanks this.
