I wish we could all agree with different channels to run.The guys who don't have stupid questions or comments need a new business channel to run.

Back in the 80's they had a great system in southern CA.using multiple channels dictated by if you were traveling east or west. That has gone by the wayside now with the influx of so many rookies who do everything on 19.

He asked about OTHER bands .

MURS is a license free band open to CBers he will have to check it out to see if it is what he needs

GMRS requires a license again another band he can look into.

    THEN .....

There is HAM radio If he has a license check out 10 meters and 2 meters for starter bands.

That still goes on. 17 north of the 46, then 15 south. 19 east and west. 7 is SAP. Not enough drivers know it though, so you end up jumping channels alot trying to get ahold of someone.

Didn't they used to run a different channel on I-8 where it paralleled I-10?

No one talks on 10 meters unless the DX is strong and then you cant find a clear channel! If you want to, then you would be better off getting your ticket,a nice used Icom 706 or Yaesu FT100D (for under $400) both are well built and simple to use. Then you can talk to places all over the world.

But i warn you, there are just as many ######## on the ham bands as there are on the CB band, and that is no joke:yes2557:!!
